Tether Distance. Did anyone notice that the tether distance option disappeared? Started a non-dedicated with my friends and soon figured out that the tether distance was low. I went into the settings looking for it and could not find it. It used to be located in the rules tab in game rules before but now it's gone.

Just run a dedicated server and get rid of tether. when i do this i cant get back on to ark and i have try to go into files to open ark but notheing will work to open ark up. At least in survival evolved you were able to change the tether length, only ever being teleported when host went into a cave. I think you can have even more than 2 player, but it is limited by the tether. Otherwise you need to run a dedicated server and then there's no limitations. Neither of these seem to be the answer you were hoping for I'm afraid.Tethering distance is clamped so even if you have set it to 5k, internally it still can't go pass the maximum value. Update: Our 3rd friend upgraded to a series X. On Ragnarok we have a 2-4 KM tether distance (not sure of the exact distance) when all 3 of us are playing. If only 2 play there's no tether distance at all. It seems like on console non dedicated it's no tether distance for 2 player, 2-4k tether distance when a third player joins.Yup, this is a known problem. Your tether distance is too high, and by some unearthly force that makes you activate hyper speed when you touch water. Just lower your distance to something more reasonable. I'd take a bet that you have it set insanely high so you could just pretend it doesn't exist. #1.
